Dear Alumni Scholar, We are looking forward to your academic success at UCLA. You embody the legacy and excellence of the Alumni Scholarships Program that has supported scholars like you for more than 76 years. I am pleased to share with you some exciting changes to the Alumni Scholarships Program that will synergize and transform how we effectively support you. We like to call it the Tale of Two Georges - George Brown and George Touma. George Brown - Director of the Alumni Scholars Club (ASC).
George Touma - Interim Director Alumni Scholarships Program.
The Alumni Scholars Club (ASC) is a student club sponsored by UCLA Alumni Affairs that you are automatically a part of once you receive an Alumni Scholarship. Alumni Affairs supports ASC because it enhances the college experience. You will soon learn that above and beyond the monetary dollars of your scholarship, you are part of a community that is positioned to help you succeed at UCLA and beyond. Through this organization, you can forge lifelong connections that will keep you involved in UCLA’s future even after you’ve graduated. ASC offers many programs including general meetings each quarter, the Alumni Mentor Program, mixers, social activities, service projects, practical leadership development workshops and more. One of the first events this fall is ASC Adventures which is designed specifically for new Alumni Scholars. The following activities take place during “zero week,” the first few days before classes start.

UCLA can seem like a huge place, especially during your first year. I urge you to take advantage of the support system that’s here for you. You are the next generation in the ASC family. Welcome to the Alumni Scholars Club! George Brown George Touma |
