Mocktail Career Gala
Are you tired of ordinary job panels? Are you searching for an exciting career path? Do you want to mix and mingle with some of UCLA’s brightest graduates for a night of mocktails and networking? Then be sure to come by JWAC for the Mocktail Career Gala on April 25 and learn from alumni about working in the real world. The event will include career panels on law, business and medicine, as well as a mocktail mixer held in the galleria of JWAC with drinks, refreshments and music. The gala is a renewal event.

Alumni Spotlight: Craig Ehrlich ’78
Craig Ehrlich ’78 has put his UCLA degree in political science to good use, earning important positions in the information technology field. Currently, Ehrlich serves as the board director of Bharti Airtel, a communications giant in India, and as the chairman of Novare Technologies, a private IT company. Watch his interview on the ASC YouTube page and learn about his success in the business world, his life as a long-term resident of Asia, and his experiences as both a student and as an accomplished alumnus of UCLA.

› Want to help manage ASC events? Have new ideas? Apply for the 2013-14 ASC Executive Board. Download the application and a description of each director position. Applications are due Friday, April 19 at 5:30 p.m.
› Don’t miss the last renewal event of the year - UCLA Alumni Day on Saturday, May 18. Volunteer roles include setting up the event, helping attendees check-in and networking with alumni, among other responsibilities. A shirt and food will be provided. To volunteer, start by filling out this form. You can also volunteer the week of May 13 to help Alumni Association staff prepare for the event. Email Amy Hurwitz for more information.
› Reminder: The service hour deadline is Monday, May 20. Be sure to log your service hours online and check that they have been verified. Remember that Los Angeles community service requires that a verification letter be submitted to your ASC advisor.
› Save the date for the lecture by My Last Lecture Award winner Professor Russell Burgos ’98, Ph.D. ’05. He will give his lecture on Thursday, May 2 at 7 p.m. in Schoenberg Hall. Tickets are free for students but must be obtained through CTO.
› Scholars who volunteered for Freshman or Bunche scholarship interviews, or who attended a Dinner for 12 Strangers can get renewal event credit. Please log the event as normal, but indicate in the description that it is a renewal event.
› Spring Sing tickets go on sale on this Friday, April 19 through CTO.
› Entertainment Networking Night is next Wednesday, April 24 from 7-9 p.m. in Ackerman Grand Ballroom. This event is essential for anyone who wants to pursue a career in entertainment.
› Join the Alumni Association and get free printing and copying privileges in JWAC.
› Like the Alumni Scholars Club’s Facebook page to learn about upcoming events and opportunities.
