The Black Bruin Resource Center makes space on campus for UCLA’s Black and African Diaspora community, serving as a home base where students, staff and faculty can find academic support and resources, socialize, foster mental health and organize as a community. This long-awaited center, opened in its new location in Kerckhoff Hall, after launching remotely in fall 2020. It is the manifestation of UCLA's historical movement for social justice and inspired by a legacy of student advocacy.
For one week each summer, Bruin families would have the time of their lives vacationing on the grounds of the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. It went beyond relaxation and family bonding. As one guest puts it, "Bruin Woods was adult summer camp, frat party and a UCLA cruise on land all rolled into one. And the kids absolutely loved it."

Dedicated UCLA philanthropist and volunteer Bob Wilson '53, the namesake of Wilson Plaza, died on Jan. 24. The Wilsons' generosity toward UCLA spanned five decades, which included the endowment of student scholarships, the renovation of Pauley, and his leadership of the UCLA Foundation and Campaign UCLA.
