May 18 launched the yearlong celebration of UCLA's 100th birthday. Thousands of alumni were treated to Alumni Day, TEDxUCLA and a spectacular Lighting the Way projection show. The festivities continued throughout the week from Sacramento to Downtown Los Angeles. Various landmarks across L.A. were lit in blue and gold, while tributes came in commemorating UCLA's impacts on a personal, regional and global scale.
On June 8, UCLA Alumni will bestow its highest honor to music mogul Mo Ostin '51. Other awardees include a renowned coach, a mayor, a history teacher, a global recruiter, a super volunteer and a network founded 30 years ago.
