Evan posted a question in our Drop-In GroupMeabout whether it’s okay to ask for feedback after not being selected for a job. Our response? Definitely! While asking for feedback after rejection is probably the last thing you feel like doing, it can be a meaningful way to gain insights for future job applications and interviews. Customize this sample email message and craft a concrete question to send your interviewer or recruiter like “What marketing or personal skills do you think I should focus on strengthening to be a more competitive applicant for positions like this in the future?” The worst that can happen is they don’t respond, but if they do, you just gained insider knowledge to improve your next application!
