Having an attitude of gratitude is something that should be cultivated throughout the year but especially when interviewing. Sending a thank you note after a job interview can truly make or break your job search. In fact, 15% of hiring managers said they flat out won’t hire someone if they don’t receive a thank you note. So Oprah was right, being grateful can change your life.
Lars Hoffman, MBA ’15 is SpaceX’s senior director of government sales. In this role, he leads strategy, business development and sales for national security programs that provide critical space-based capabilities. Lars was instrumental to SpaceX earning national security certification for the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launch systems and he has captured government contracts totaling more than $600 million. Lars joined SpaceX in 2014, after a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, including two tours in the Pentagon. Diversity & Success in Business is a networking round table event to connect students with diverse alumni working in different areas of the business world. Students get to learn about the unique career paths of distinguished alumni from diverse backgrounds, and discuss mentorship, challenges, opportunities and resources for pursuing careers in business and navigating life after UCLA. Recruiters and industry representatives will be in attendance to share information about their diversity leadership programs and career opportunities.
