Networking gets a bad rap. It sounds intimidating and confusing, right? In reality, networking is just building relationships and having conversations with people. That’s something you do every day! Apply that philosophy to your next networking event. Your goal can be as simple as meeting four new people and learning something new from each of them! Use these tips as you prepare for your next networking event—perhaps STEM Networking Night?
Nick Mansur, M.A. '77 has spent most of his forty-three year career in engineering management. As vice president of scientific systems at Walt Disney Imagineering, Nick was responsible for a division of over 100 engineers and support personnel tasked to design and sustain the software that controls and monitors Disney Theme Park attractions, world-wide. As an engineering leader, Nick is passionate about process: there must be enough to help ensure quality on-time, on-budget, but not so much that it stifles innovation and creativity. Meet Nick next Tuesday at STEM Networking Night.
STEM Networking Night is an event that provides students studying science, technology, engineering and math the opportunity to connect with alumni and explore different career opportunities.
