Leadership in Labor



This Friday, UCLA observes César Chávez Day in honor of the advocate whose inspiring leadership in the labor movement led to the creation of the department now known as the César E. Chávez Center of Chicana/o and Central American Studies. This issue provides an opportunity to learn about the UCLA Labor Center's research on workforce development and features alumni seeking to achieve equity in the workplace.

On April 13, UCLA Latino Alumni Association presents "How to Negotiate Your Salary," a career training led by Angélica S. Gutiérrez ’00, Cert. ’06, Ph.D. ’12.

Learn
The UCLA Labor Center Workforce Development team has curated a repository of workforce development resources in order to support organizations advancing equity in California’s public workforce development system.

Read
The UCLA Labor Center finds, in a recent report co-authored by Magaly Lopez '08, M.P.P. '15, that worker centers are invaluable actors in the state’s public workforce development system.
