Juneteenth is celebrated on Sunday, June 19, in remembrance of the liberation of the remaining enslaved Black people who had been denied freedom, even after Emancipation. This holiday is a time of celebration but also an opportunity to continue to address the racist structures of our society so that all can truly live free.
This issue is dedicated to our Black Bruin community and offers opportunities to celebrate Juneteenth through Bruin activism, support and understanding.
