The Diversity Digest

We Know This

Over the past week, many in our country have learned what people from marginalized communities have already known.

We know that UCLA will be able to return to mostly in-person instruction if we do our part to wear a face covering and get vaccinated when the vaccine becomes available to us.

We know that the pandemic has affected everyone - especially our frontline workers and communities of color.

We know that armed insurrectionists are not treated with the same response from law enforcement as people of color who protest against injustice.

We know that, despite attempts to overthrow a fair and democratic election, a new president will be inaugurated as the President of the United States next Wednesday.
Knowing this, we hope this week's digest can affirm the feelings we are all experiencing in this moment.  Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with your thoughts and ideas for moving forward toward a more just society by emailing diversity@alumni.ucla.edu.

Celebrate Life
Last call for submissions . If you would like to celebrate the life of a loved one with us, please submit their name and relation to you, along with a story or memory (you may include a photo), to diversity@alumni.ucla.edu so they may be included in our future "In Memoriam" issue of The Diversity Digest.
