The Diversity Digest

Call to Action

As an alumni community, we stand in solidarity with the Black community in the fight against White supremacy, systematic racism and police brutality. We encourage you to continue to be the leaders and optimists all Bruins are — to continue to listen, reflect and take actions individually and collectively in the communities in which you belong.

UCLA Alumni Diversity Programs & Initiatives has a responsibility to ensure that our alumni community is heard and seen. We will continue to use the upcoming volumes of the Diversity Digest to amplify the voices and actions of our historically marginalized communities.  We invite you to “act” through this week’s offerings:

UCLA academic professors, Dr. Darnell Hunt, Brenda Stevenson, Terence Keel, Tyrone Howard, Safiya Noble, Laura Abrams, Issac Bryan, Tananrive Due, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Hunt and Robin Kelley share insights on responses to the killing of George Floyd with various media outlets.

MEET
UCLA will welcome Dr. Anna Spain Bradley as the second Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion starting Sept. 1.

REFLECT

SUPPORT
The mission of the UCLA Black Alumni Association is to empower “alumni, students, faculty and the community at-large to form powerful associations through advocacy and mobilization that will create greater educational opportunities and resources for the African American community collectively." You can support them through their various efforts.
