The Diversity Digest

#YouVoteWeDance

As we enter the month of October, we are reminded that we are just one month away from election day. October also marks the start of Filipino-American History Month. UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association (PAA) has been hard at work preparing for the election by creating its very own get-out-the-vote campaign, #YouVoteWeDance.

Join in the #YouVoteWeDanceChallenge on social media this month as PAA utilizes culture, art and activism to get out the vote.

ENGAGE
Join us this Friday for a re-screening of UCLA's " This Is Bruin Life," followed by a discussion touching on the unique state of UCLA's campus climate.

READ
UCLA will become the first UC to offer an interdisciplinary Pilipino studies minor. The Daily Bruin covers the approval of the minor and the new opportunity for current students.

LEARN
UCLA Social Sciences will be hosting a Dean's Salon on Oct. 19 to discuss protecting the right to vote in the 2020 election.

WATCH
Join the UCLA Film and Television Archive on the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month for " Please, Don't Burry Me Alive!," followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker. The landmark independent film offers an in-depth look at 1970s-era South Texas Chicano culture.

UNDERSTAND
UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture invites the public to join the virtual classroom to engage in conversations around the most urgent questions facing us today in "10 Questions: Reckoning." The series will include "What is Justice?," "What is Power?" and "What is Resilience?" among other challenging questions.
