Thank you to everyone who supported the UCLA Lambda LGBTQ Alumni Association in 2018. Whether you attended an event, shared our social media posts, volunteered or donated, we appreciate you.
2019 is going to be filled with ongoing celebration at UCLA and within the Lambda community. In May, UCLA will turn 100 and will kick off a yearlong celebration highlighting Bruin history, past achievements and more. Our network will join in on the celebration and also host a series of festivities and programming events to honor UCLA's Centennial.
First and foremost, please join us for our Annual Lambda Gala on Sunday, April 28 honoring iconic politician, Sheila Kuehl '62, and Coolhaus CEO and co-founder, Natasha Case, M.A. '08. On Saturday, May 18, Bruins will be coming back to campus to celebrate UCLA Alumni Day. This fall, UCLA will co-host a human rights forum on the eve of National Coming Out Day in Royce Hall for the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. And there’s so much more – including some events coming soon in Northern California.
To stay up-to-date on our latest events, keep an eye on your inboxes and social media. If you’ve ever considered getting more involved with the board as a volunteer or board member, helping to cultivate the next generation of LGBTQ+ Bruin leaders, there’s no better time than the present.

Help Recruit LGBTQ First-Year & Transfer Students By Sharing Your UCLA Experience
Co-hosted by UCLA LGBT Campus Resource Center, Queer Alliance and Lambda Alumni Association, we are seeking alumni volunteers to connect with incoming freshmen, transfer and current undergraduate students during Pride Admit Weekend (PAW). Sign up to volunteer as a dinner table host or keynote speaker, or simply write a letter to a freshman or transfer student sharing your UCLA experience.
Make plans to return to campus for the kickoff of UCLA's Centennial Celebration at UCLA Alumni Day 2019. There will be timely speakers, engaging discussions, enlightening tours and yet-to-be-imagined surprises.
Continue celebrating UCLA’s 100 years as we host an afternoon reception and interactive history-making art project highlighting LGBTQ’s history. View historical LGBTQ UCLA photos, take the opportunity to tell your LGBTQ UCLA story and meet with fellow LGBTQ alumni and Lambda’s inspiring scholarship recipients. More details to come.

Congratulations to Our Lambda Scholarship Recipients
Due to the generosity of our donors and financial support from the UCLA Alumni Association, Lambda awarded $2,500 in scholarships to three undergraduate students and two graduate students. We received a record number of applications this year. These awards mark the first time in several years that Lambda has been able to provide scholarships to continuing students. All applications were carefully reviewed by eight scholarship readers. Thank you to all who participated.
