A MESSAGE FROM OUR CO-CHAIRS
It has been a fantastic year welcoming newly admitted students to campus, celebrating the network’s 28 years of supporting LGBTQ+ Bruins, officially launching our new Instagram account and being selected as a recipient of Liberty Hill Foundation’s Out Fund grant. Thank you to the donors and selection committee for this wonderful honor.

In this fall edition, we will:
  • Highlight previous events
  • Share current updates regarding trans members of the UC community
  • Provide more information on our annual Drag Bingo fundraiser
With the new year right around the corner, we are excited to announce we have several open board positions. If you are interested in taking a step in your commitment to UCLA and/or the LGBTQ+ community, please email lambda@alumni.ucla.edu or visit our "Get Involved" page.

FOR OUR TRANS BRUINS AND PEERS

The Trump Administration recently announced they are considering narrowing the definition of gender being strictly biological and binary. These policy changes would deeply impact the rights of the trans members of our community. UCLA Lambda Alumni Association stands in solidarity with trans Bruins and all trans people. We will do everything in our power to ensure that all members of the LGBTQ+ community are treated with the dignity they deserve.

UCLA Lambda Alumni Association re-affirms the practices of both the University of California Office of the President and UCLA in creating an inclusive campus for the trans community. Gender identity is a protected class under university policy, as reaffirmed in statements made by President Janet Napolitano as well as the UCLA LGBT Campus Resource Center.

This commitment is demonstrated through institutional actions, such as options for name change and preferred names, establishing gender-neutral restrooms and gender-inclusive housing, research-informed gender data collection for demographic forms, transgender benefits through UCSHIP, as well as informed staff to support trans members of our community.

If you are trans and currently a UCLA student, please click here for information on resources available on campus.
