UCLA Latino Alumni Association would like to congratulate Vanessa Duran '15, Exp. M.L.S.T. '23, for being selected as a contributing author in "Latinas Rising Up in HR Volume 2." Through her contribution to the anthology, she hopes to elevate Latina voices in business and human resources.

Amigxs in the Professions: Summer Career Panels Hosted by UCLA Latino Alumni Association
UCLA Latino Alumni Association hosted a summer series of virtual panels focusing on careers in business, law and medicine. They provided current students and alumni the opportunity to learn about what it takes to succeed in those fields. The response to the panels was overwhelmingly positive!
Nearly 200 attendees were able to join in the series and hear the remarks and advice provided by distinguished UCLA professionals as well as talented graduate students currently pursuing professional degrees at UCLA. There has never been a time when our community has needed greater representation in these professions and we are excited about the role that ULAA will play in providing access to advice and information about professional and graduate school programs from alumni who are committed to taking our community to new heights.
We are convinced that career panels such as the summer series can make a difference to aspiring professionals in our community. As one attendee put it, “After hearing from the speakers, [professional graduate] school seems a lot more feasible for someone like me.” We look forward to organizing more career panels and workshops throughout the year.
