February is Black History Month and we're celebrating our powerful UCLA Afro-Latino alumni and shedding light on diversity within the Latino community. Big Bruin shoutout to Sophina DeJesus, Anita Ortega, Earl Watson and all Latinos with African heritage who help shape and influence the UCLA Afro-Latino community.
Valentine's Day or El Dia del Amor y Amistad is also this month. We want to send all the love to the cute couples and great friendships blossoming among Latino Bruins. Spread the love! Show UCLA Latino Alumni Association some love by attending an event, signing up for updates, telling your friends about us and giving to support future Latino Bruins.
In the spirit of El Dia del Amor y la Amistad we are calling all Bruins and their wing person to join us for a fun-filled gathering of Bruins. Countless couples and friendships have formed through the UCLA Latino Alumni Association, so you never know who you might meet!
We will be playing Valentine’s Day-themed Loteria and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about and contribute to UCLA Latino Alumni Association’s $1 million campaign for endowed scholarships.

UCLA Men's Basketball Ticket Drawing on Instagram
You have all been outstanding in helping us surpass 2,000 followers on Instagram. In February, we gave away five tickets to watch UCLA Men's Basketball. Follow us for an opportunity to win limited edition Latino alumni orgulloso swag once we reach 2,300 followers.
We have an incredibly enthusiastic group of Latino Bruins in our community. Over 50 alumni and students attended our open house to learn more about what's next for UCLA Latino alumni. We discussed upcoming events and all nine board members were on hand to answer questions. Join us at our next open house in late spring to get ready to welcome the graduating class of 2020.
