TRAVELER'S MOMENT
Travelers: Cliff, M.A. ’75, Ph.D. ’84, and Susan Behrens Number of Trips With UCLA Alumni Travel: 2 First Trip: Journey Through Southern Africa (2022) Most Recent Trip:Classic Safari (2024) A Favorite Memory: “Sue and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary by taking the Classic Safari tour with UCLA Alumni Travel. A memorable highlight of this trip was our hot-air balloon ride at sunrise over the Maasai Mara. We watched with excitement as our balloon was inflated and began to take form in the early morning darkness. Later onboard, it seemed that for an hour we had the majesty and mystique of the Kenya landscape all to ourselves as we floated over the plains and migrating animals below: the enveloping solitude of the moment, interrupted only occasionally by sounds of the burner blowing the hot-air that kept us aloft, excited exclamations from our pilot, Carlos, and the joyous laughter of fellow travelers who shared our delight. We will never forget the drama and scale of the wildebeest migration and we will always cherish the comradery we enjoyed with other travelers on this tour.”
