Charles E. Young, M.A. '57, Ph.D. '60, former chancellor who led UCLA for nearly three decades, has died at 91. From 1968 to 1997, he guided UCLA through the turbulent '70s and the belt-tightening '90s, overseeing its transformation from a regional institution to the world-class research university that it is today.
