For Croatia, we loved the contrasts, starting with the opulent, beautiful Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb, built for the Orient Express crowd, and restored to its 1920's glory. Then into the green hills of inland Croatia, the cobbled small towns along the Dalmatian Coast, hiking in the national parks with their turquoise lakes and stunning waterfalls, and finally to walking the top of the imposing walls of Dubrovnik. What a journey!”
