Rawan Galaidos ’15 graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in social science. She started The Ubuntu Project (www.theubuntuproj.com), a mission-driven organization that fosters hope and encouragement from within by supporting effective causes in Africa and inspiring young Africans to take an active role towards the betterment of their communities. In addition, Rawan is a Princeton in Africa fellow serving as Chief of Staff at the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. Prior to that, she worked as a management consultant in a variety of enterprise-wide initiatives, for Fortune 500 clients – including Toyota, Cisco, DirecTV, ATT, and BP. Rawan is eager to utilize her skills for good.

Han Wu ’14 received a bachelor’s degree from UCLA majoring in Civil and environmental engineering and minoring in accounting. He continued his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a master's degree in Structural Engineering focusing on High Performance Structures. Currently, Wu works at Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong (one of the worldwide leading engineering consulting firms) as a structural engineer and is the chairman of Young Engineer’s Group. Besides tackling challenging design problems, he also plays a key role in researching and implementing industry leading design tools as well as conducting training sessions. Upon completion of Schwarzman Scholars, Han hopes to pursue a career where he can combine his experience and knowledge in design and business development.
The Schwarzman Scholars Program offers a world-class curriculum and leadership training designed to prepare its graduates to build stronger relationships between China and a rapidly changing world, and to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st Century. Now in its third year, it is one of the most selective postgraduate programs in the world. As such, more than 4,000 applicants from 39 countries and 97 universities spanning the globe vied for 142 precious placements.
Founder and chairman, Steve Schwarzman believes, “It is crucial that the next generation of leaders forge deep relationships, authentic mutual understanding across cultures, and a dialogue of genuine respect.” Through the fully-funded one year program, students pursue a master’s degree in global affairs. Scholars are selected on the basis of leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to understand other cultures. They will study at the new state-of-the-art Schwarzman College campus located at the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing building their leadership capacities as they are immersed in an international community of thinkers, innovators and senior leaders in business, politics and society.
