2018 UCLA Awards. Two generous vintners, a homeless advocate and a marathon legend - these are among the recipients of this year's UCLA Awards. Topping the list are Garen ’66 and Sharalyn ’66 Staglin as the Edward A. Dickson Alumni of the Year. See the other honorees and their inspiring stories.
UC Alumni UK Charity Gala
More than 120 alumni and friends, 48 of whom were Bruins, came out to support the University of California on March 17, including keynote speaker, Frank Spotnitz '82. The night helped raise more than $30,000 for UC student scholarships. Check out the photos.

The UCLA Alumnae Conference, held on March 11, was more than a series of interactive sessions facilitated by Bruin women. It was a space for honest and open dialogue, recognizing the challenges women faced personally and professionally. Inspired by the theme “Boundless,” alumnae were encouraged and uplifted by their sisterhood community.

Bruins Honor Legacy of Cesar Chavez
March 31 was Cesar Chavez Day, honoring the nation’s best-known Latino civil rights activist. Taking a page from his advocacy for farm workers' rights and nonviolent protest, UCLA students in the 90s rallied, marched and staged a hunger strike for the creation of the Cesar E. Chavez Department of Chicana/o Studies.
