Send Them Off Right. From July - September, alumni networks worldwide host New Bruin Send-offs to welcome incoming students and families to UCLA. Ranging from backyard gatherings to potluck picnics, these events showcase the reach and strength of the UCLA community, provide a space for students and parents to ask questions and give alumni a chance to share their UCLA experience. Bruin Stories: When I Volunteered in the '84 Olympics
During the summer of 1984, UCLA opened its campus - and its heart - to the Games of the XXIII Olympiad. UCLA’s central location, top notch facilities and plenty of space for athletes and spectators made it an ideal setting, and gave these Bruin volunteers a front-row seat for all the excitement.
