Congratulations to student Cory Chen, who was nominated by his mentor, Julianne Fowler.
"I’m nominating Cory because he enriches our mentorship with his boundless curiosity and willingness to share. He inspires me with his deep commitment to make the most of his UCLA experience. Because of his poignant questions, I’ve been able to guide him to campus clubs, part-time work, internships, volunteer opportunities and career paths. He often asks for my advice on developing his talents, career options, writing tips and study skills. I always look forward to sharing his astute insights on assigned readings and films. I feel Cory exemplifies the true Bruin spirit and deserves recognition."
Cory Chen is a third-year American literature and culture major. Julianne Fowler '97 earned a leadership certificate from UCLA and taught business communication at UCLA Extension for 32 years.
