Cover Letters: Take some time to craft a cover letter and ask your mentor for feedback. Key aspects to consider:
Review a job description for a role that is of interest to you, and use it to model the cover letter
Hook the hiring manager with a strong introduction
Prove that you're the perfect candidate for the job
Close the cover letter with a request to interview

Maximizing Your Mentorship in the Virtual Space
As 2021 moves forward, take some time to think about active and virtual experiences both mentors and mentees can experience during the pandemic. Mentors, are there any remote work experiences to which you can bring your student (team meetings, client calls or project meetings)? Can you share a work project with them and give them some insight on how you navigate the project? Students, take stock of the professional experiences you wish to gain this year and find ways to add value to your mentor’s professional endeavors. Share articles and resources you come across. Is there research or information that can help your mentor in their job? Share your own research with your mentor to get their insights and suggestions. Staying top of mind for your mentor will be important for the year ahead.
