A Welcome Message From the GSA President
Dear UCLA Graduate Students and Alumni,
Congratulations on embarking on this mentorship. Like any relationship, it takes time to develop and grow, but you’ve taken the first step of this exciting journey. As a graduate student myself, I’ve learned the value of our Bruin connection to our alumni, and I hope that the connection you’ve established flourishes over the year. I know that many of my mentors over the years have imparted important wisdom and guidance throughout both my academic career and my personal life.
As you start your meetings, set some specific and measurable goals for your mentorship. Be as open as possible and define as much of the mentorship as you can early on! Think about the areas in which you can be of assistance to one another, and how you can stretch your perspective. Our mentors can help us navigate 2021 and reach our full potential. The Graduate Student Association (GSA) strives to provide more tangible ways to support UCLA graduate students, and I’m excited that you’re part of this program. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our team if you want to get involved!
Best of luck on completing your fall quarter!
