Mentor Spotlight: Nick Kellerman '19

Congrats to our first mentor spotlight, Nick Kellerman, who was nominated by his student, Angel Zhu.

"Nick has been so helpful in the short few weeks that I've known him. He created a document for me all about his school-to-work transition, helpful links to guides he created on informational interviews, networking and network management. Additionally, he is always prompt with responses and very helpful. If I ask him a question, he'll seek out the answer and get back to me."

Kellerman is mentoring two students this year and has been a student in the program for three years prior to graduating. He is a Leadership Rotational Associate at Boston Scientific and earned a bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from UCLA in 2019.

Helpful Resources for Students

To make the most out of your mentorship this quarter, here are some on-campus resources that could further support your academic, professional and personal development.
  • UCLA's Career Center offers events, networking fairs and career counseling year-around.Your mentor can help guide you through the process and pinpoint different interests and opportunities as they come up at the Career Center.
  • Job search sites specifically for Bruins, like Handshake and UCLA ONE can take you a step further and aid in your search for jobs and internships beyond UCLA's campus.
  • Most importantly, your mental and physical health comes first. UCLA offers a plethora of resources, including the STAND Program, which offers a mental health tracker with free and immediate help if needed.
For more tips, tricks and resources, visit our weekly office hours every Tuesday, 3 - 4 p.m. in the James West Alumni Center.
