Romance of the Douro River
“This is a lovely part of Europe that is less visited. Lisbon rivals the neighboring cities of Madrid and Barcelona with its rich history and beauty. Add to this the exquisite harbor town of Porto, a gem, one of my favorite cities in Europe. You’ll love the strong bohemian culture, and the historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.”

A Favorite Memory:
“A special lunch in the middle of a rice field in Bali was a unique and wonderful experience. After lunch, we all enjoyed a first-cabin foot massage. My husband and I wanted to visit Singapore to see the marvelous architecture: Singapore does not disappoint here! The technology of the vertical farms is the best in the world. And it appears they have only just begun. The sites in Thailand were fascinating, wonderous - and nowhere in the world can you get such a huge variety of fantastic soups! Cambodia was the highlight for us. This is some of the best archaeology in the world. The group was completely absorbed in the ruins. Instead of simply visiting Angkor Wat, we saw and visited many other of the Angkor sites as well. This was a completely eye-opening adventure into history. The trip overall was excellent. We made several new friends and had enough free time to venture out with these new friends to experience the local culture in each location. Thank you UCLA Alumni for putting this together. We know we'll be back!"
